The class of 1912 is more fortunate than any other classin the history of the Winston City High School, because wehave the rare privilege of graduating twice from the sameinstitution. Since this was the case we thought that per-haps the usual exercises might become monotonous for usand for the public at large, so we decided to break thismonotony by giving The Princess. This well knownplay of Tennysons is being given for commencement all. 52 TEE BLACK AXD GOLD over the country in High Schools and Colleges. We hopeto make it a brilliant success and distinguish ourselves atthe same time. The progress of the Winston City Public Schools duringthe session of 1911-12 has been worthy of special every department some material improvement has beenmade, the most noticeable of which has been the erection andequipment of school buildings. An 8 room brick buildinghas been added to the West End School plant, and a 12room brick building to the north school. In addition tothese a new 12 room building is nearing completion in EastWinston. These buildings are all constructed along themost approved lines of school architecture and present avery pleasing appearance. The erection of these buildingswas made necessary by the previous crowded conditionof the schools together with a 10 per cent, increase in en-rollment. With this equipment we feel safe in saying that Winstonhas five of the best schools i
