The\- belong to the ti'ibe Vaiidcu. The name, gix'cn by Robt. Brown, is deri\-ed from makros. long, and cuh'ti. a gland, and in reter- ence to the long process of the pollen - The species are closely allied to, and require the same cidtural con- ditions as, the warm- growing species of Oii- cidiinii. M. lutescens brownish-purple ; peduncle four- or nve November. (B. R., t. 612.).
