A rare portrait of coachman Thomas Layfield of the King's Arms Inn, Leeds, UK (born January 1800 died 1881). He drove the Chevy Chaise for the Duke of Northumberland an most of the coaches in the north of England. He had the privilege of being the last coachman on the road, driving the 'Wellington' and retired a respected and wealthy man.
