In this photograph, inventor Levi W. Lombard of Mattapan, Boston, is seen demonstrating his new war weapon during World War One. This machine gun, also called a centifugal gun, is claimed to possess the highest firing power ever achieved at 33,000 shots per minute. The ammunition is fed through a cup-like attachment on the left and emitted through a slot on the top of the receiver.
