Anallusion is made to one of them ina petition, presented to the General. A little further on in the records acharge of five shillings is made ffortwo sheats of Parchment. Theseentries seem to show that two planswere made, perhaps one for the town Court on February 10, 1717, by JohnShepley and John Ames. It is therementioned that the said Plat thosomething defaced is with the Peti-tioner ; and is further stated That in 28o The Boundary Lines of Old Grot on. — /. [May, the year 1713 M Samuel DanforthSuneyor & Son of the aforesaid Jon-athan Danforth, at the desire of thesaid Town of Groton did run the Lines& make an Implatment of the saidTownship laid out as before & found itagreeable to the former. AV^ last Platthe Petitioners do herewith exhibit, Andpray that this Hon*^^ Court would allow& confirm the same as the Townshipof Groton. While the original plan has been lostor destroyed, it is fortunate that manyyears ago a copy was made, which isstill preserved.
