THE TIDAL MARSH Tidal marsh comprises the low, flat, marshy areas along the ChesapeakeBay which are subject to daily inundation by tide water. There is onlya very small area of the type; too inconsiderable to warrant the construc-tion of dikes for its reclamation. It supports a dense growth of coarsesalt-marsh grasses. There are occasional narrow strips too small tobe shown on the map. MARYLAND GEOLOGICAL SURVEY ANNE ARUNDEL COUNTY, PLATE VII. Fig. i.—view showing farm and woodland along south river.
