Swisi Chard This vegetable is grown for its leaves and stalks, which make excellent greens. Sow the seed early in spring, in rich well-drained soil, in drills 1% feet apart. Thin to 6 or 8 Inches, and cultivate like spinach. The leaves can be used as soon as they are large enough to cut without destroying the plant. It is also a good green feed for chickens.
