Each loco-motive takes on 560 lbs. for a round trip ofnearly seventeen miles. So perfect are thecoaling arrangements, that after the steamshovel stops at night only one man is re-quired at the station to coal all the locomo-tives of the Third Avenue line that requirefuel before 5:30 the next morning.
