Barron, and lives on the old Douglass homestead inElizabeth township, has one son, Elisha; James D., died1866, aged five years. Elisha P. Douglass, father of Howard Weddle Doug-lass, was a graduate of the University of Wooster, classof 1877. He has for forty years been practicing law atthe Allegheny county bar, residing in McKeesport,where his offices are located. He is a member of thevarious legal societies, and practices in all State andFederal courts of the district. He is president of the. BIOGRAPHICAL 257 McKeesport Title and Trust Company, vice-presidentof the McKeesport Tin Plate Company, and active invarious movements for civic betterment, having servedas president of the board of trustees of McKeesportHospital, president of the board of trustees of the Mc-Keesport Young Mens Christian Association, and alsoas a member of the board of directors. Mr. Douglass married Elvira P. Weddle, of Eliza-beth, township, and they became the parents of twosons: Howard Weddle, of whom further; and EarlLeRoy, a graduate of Princeton, class of 1913, and ofUnion Theological Seminary, New York City. He mar-ried, Sept. 4, 1913, Lois Haler, of Versailles township,Allegheny county. Pa. The Weddle family came toAmerica from Germany, and settled in the eastern partof Pennsylvania, migrating, in 1753, to the western partof the State, where they settled in the forks of theYoughiogheny ri
