Underground recycling bins

These recycling points consist of above ground towers or funnels into which empty bottles are deposited and collected in bins below ground. The whole mechanism is raised to ground level for removal of the underground bin for emptying. This has the advantage of not requiring specialist equipment for emptying of the bins and reduces the above-ground footprint of the facility. This bin was photographed in Marseillan, France.
