An eight months pregnant Honduran woman waits outside a closed Catholic Church shelter on her way to the USA.

After almost a year of simmering conflict the Juan Diego Migrant shelter in the Lecheria neighborhood north of Mexico City, was symbolically closed by neighbors complaining of drugs, crime and unsanitary conditions on their streets. The Catholic Church, which runs the sanctuary for economic refugees from Central America, near the railroad lines that go north to the US border, then officially closed it on Monday July 9, 2012, leaving the migrants with no option for food or shelter in the area. One of the migrants affected by the closing is Noemi Espinal Vaca, 29, from Tegucigalpa, Honduras shown here in front of the closed shelter. Ms Espinal is making the difficult journey to the US by freight train despite being 8 months pregnant.
