Cathedral of Saint Basil, Moscow, Russia, also known as the Cathedral of the Intercession of the Mound. This cathedral was built by Ivan the Terrible between 1555 and 1561 following the thwarting of the Khanate of Kazan. It was designed by Postnik Yakovlev. This type of design is known as multi-tent or tented church, and is considered to be representative of Russia's geographical and historical positioning between the East and West.
