It has beencloudy for a couple of days with just a sprinkle of rain, which did notlay the lust. The past week has been a little colder than last soil blowing occurred during the week, but not as much as has blownbefore. The Station does not blow except daring the hardest winds. Thesurrounding farms blow with just a little wind*. -7- Tucumcaris Field Work for the week has consisted of cultivating and listingin effort to control the blowing, West of the station has been holdinggood, but the little strip in the southeast corner of the south fieldhas been giving most of the trouble. The ornamental trees and shrubswere watered this week. Ufeny of the trees and shrubs are leafing out,some, being in bloom. The range cattle are beginning to gain in flesh since the grasshas begun to come on. The cattle in lot 1 (fed bunch) are in excellentcondition. The cows will begin calving before long. !&• So F. Chiicott of Woodward, and lit« H. J. Clemmer of Dal hartvisited the station this week to look after arranging the field work forthe ensuing year. V/oodward: Showers continue to come, and it may be that we will soon catchlap to the average rainfall.
