Storks nesting on top of Tangermünde Rathaus or Town Hall, Germany, Europe.

Tangermünde is a very attractive historic German town on the Elbe cycle path or Elberadweg. People in Germany are very sympathetic to the White Storks who migrate each winter to Africa. They are allowed to build their nests on buildings, but people construct nesting plinths on wooden poles - perhaps to encourage them to keep off the buildings! The Stork is said to bring good luck, so they are normally made welcome and are often to be seen around human habitation.
