Canadian downhill mountain bike racer Steve Smith died on Tuesday from major brain injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident in Nanaimo, British Columbia The 26-year-old Canadian competed on the UCI Mountain Bike World Cup circuit and won the overall title in 2013. Smith, who was known as The Canadian Chainsaw on the downhill circuit, recently finished second at April's World Cup event in Lourdes, France while competing for Devinci Global Racing.
