PACIFIC OCEAN (February 10, 2024) — The crew of the guided-missile destroyer USS Russell (DDG 59) kicked off their 2024 deployment by taking on fuel during a replenishment at sea with the Henry J. Kaiser-class fleet replenishment oiler USNS Pecos. The refueling was a simultaneous evolution with the Zumwalt Class Guided Missile Destroyer USS Michael Monsoor seen here making her approach on Pecos. The Russell is on a regularly scheduled deployment to the Western Pacific. ( Navy photo by Chief Mass Communication Specialist Mark D. Faram)
