The bulbs are very large, 8 to 12 inches in circumference, and produce with great certainty extra-strong spikes of bloom, from 18 inches to 3 feet high, bearing enoimous trumpet-shaped floweis of great substance, averaging 6 to 10 inches across, of rich and glowing scarlet, intensified by a con- trasting wide white stripe through each petal. For pot culture in the window, conservatory or greenhouse they are well adapted, and when in bloom in the winter and spring months no flower can approach their beauty—spikes frequently produce 4 to 8 flowers each, and often 2 and 3 spikes are produced at one time. {See ctt-t.) 35c. each, $ per doz.
