It is i)robable though not yet demonstrably certain, that Maturin, Robert and William Ballou were near relatives. For a time we fondly hoped to find traces of Roberts and Col. Williams descent, but entirely failed. Future research may discover it. So we leave the matter to abler explorers. Without further prologue, this expansive History and Genealogy of the American Ballous is respectfully commended to the perusal of all interested in its contents. The
