"Thank You NHS" Sign from everyone at St Mary's CE Primary School, Lewisham, presently closed except for the children of critical workers, due to the COVID-19 Pandemic,

Dear All, As you know, schools in the UK have closed. This is an important measure to reduce the spread of coronavirus. The school will be open throughout the Easter period for the children of critical workers and vulnerable children. Please only send your child into school if you are a CRITICAL WORKER and NO ONE else can SAFELY look after your child. In order to keep everyone safe, children should stay at home and follow the social distancing guidance. If you intend to send your child to school because you are a critical worker, please be aware that we will need to verify this with your employer. Please check the government’s list of critical workers if you are unsure. If your child is entitled to free school meals (and we have not been in contact with you already) please call the school to discuss arrangements that have been made to support you. We know that these are very stressful and unsettling times but we will still be here remotely to answer any questions that you might have. Please email if we can help you in any way. We will also be making every effort to keep in touch with you over the coming weeks and our thoughts and prayers will be with you all. I am delighted to inform you that we have continued to keep the school open for our critical workers and have been selected to become a Lewisham ‘Hub’. Lewisham Hubs are schools that will remain open throughout the duration of the Covid 19 crisis. Hubs will also accommodate the children of critical workers from other schools when their school needs to close. This has happened to several schools in Lewisham and last week the staff and children from St Saviour’s Primary School Lewisham successfully moved into St Mary’s Hub. .
