Romanesque monastery of Sant Joan les Fonts in the Garrotxa region of Gerona province, Catalonia, Spain
The Sant Joan les Fonts monastery is located in the town of San Juan les Fonts in the Catalan region of La Garrocha. In the year 1079, Udalard Bernat lord of the Castle of Milany and his wife, Ermessenda Madame de Beuda and Montagut, viscounts of Besalú, as owners, ceded it to the monastery of San Víctor de Marseille, who founded a Benedictine priory, the church was consecrated of the monastery in the year 1117. During the year 1424 it became dependent on San Pedro de Besalú until 1592, when it joined San Pedro de Camprodón until the confiscation. It was declared a national monument in 1981, and restored at the end of the 20th century.
