This young and vigorous branchof Christ Church in Plainfield felt that there wasroom for them in this city, and their work has beenput forward under the care of the Newark Classis. The Rev. Andrew Van Vranken Raymond (son ofthe late Rev. Henry A. Raymond, who died at Cohoes,N. Y., July 18, 1877, in his seventy-third year) wasinvited to the pastorate of the infant church in thefall of 1880, he being then pastor of the ReformedChurch at Paterson, N. J.
