The principal entrance into this Church is at the weft end by aveftibule, formerly called the Galilee, leading under a grand tower intothe nave. The front of the veftibule is impaired in its beauty by theinfertion of two fmall door-ways of a very uncouth form, inftead of theoriginally defigned elegant open entrance, under and within which theyare placed : this veftibule is faid to have been built by Bifhop Euftachius,about the year 1200. The great Tower is faid to have been anciently flanked, on the northfide, with a building of the fame kind as that now ftanding on the fouth,making in the whole weftern front an auguft appearance :
