Magdalen College is one of the oldest, largest and grandest of the Oxford University Colleges. It stands next to the River Cherwell and has within its grounds a deer park, intermittently flooded water meadows and many extensive beautiful walks. But here we see something rather more up-to-date and topical: a Ukrainian Flag draped outside the window of its medieval library. Students and staff here do not occupy cloistered towers remote from the world!
