Bangabandhu Satellite-1 launch, 11 May 2018. Bangabandhu-1 is the first Bangladeshi geostationary communications and broadcasting satellite. It was manufactured by Thales Alenia Space and launched from Kennedy Space Center, Florida, USA. It was the first payload launched by a Falcon 9 Block 5 rocket of SpaceX, a private American aerospace company. The project is a partnership between the Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) and US based Space Partnership International, LLC.
