Facade and main entrance of Wat Sothon Wararam Worawihan in Chachoengsao province, one of the biggest Buddhist temples in Thailand

Originally built during the late Ayutthaya period, Wat Sothon Wararam Worawihan in Chachoengsao Province is currently one of the largest Buddhist temples in Thailand. Located about an hour drive away from Bangkok, the temple was initially named 'Wat Hong' and is built of Italian white-grey marble, alongside the Bang Pakong River. It houses an important Buddha image, depicted in the attitude of meditation, called Phra Phutthasothon or Luang Pho Sothon. The revered statue is believed to bring wellness and health to devotees.
