Themachine is arranged with two indejiendent headson one bed. adjustable on the bed for varyinglengths. The bed may be made of any lengthto suit. The two heads are complete in them-selves, driven indepeiuleutly, and with all attachraents, feeds, etc., for a complete boring-nui-chine. The power is anijjle for boring four holes, punched 4 to 8 in. diameter, at one time, andthe range of speed is such as to adapt the ma-chine for drilling down to U-in. holes. Thetwo columns have both power and hand move-ment for adjustment on the bed. The feeds are by power, and are reversible up or down, and range from -^ to. Fig. 7.—Brown & Sharpes chucking-machine.
