The Marquess of Anglesey's Column rising from the rock outcrop of Craig y Dinas: erected 1816-7, bronze figure of the Marquess in hussar uniform added 1860. Erected by public subscription in honour of Henry William Paget, First Marquess of Anglesey, in recognition of his "distinguished military achievements" against Napoleon during the 1807 Spanish campaign & at Waterloo in 1815, where he famously lost a leg. Made of Moelfre limestone by architect Thomas Harrison of Chester.
