A waymarker for the Green Chain Walk and Capital Ring in Ravensbourne Woods, South London

The Green Chain Walk links a series of open spaces in South East London from the river near Erith to Crystal Palace following a route of over 16 miles with a number of circular routes. The first work to create the walk was started in 1977 by the GLC and the London Boroughs of Bexley, Bromley, Greenwich, Lewisham and Southwark. Since 2005 parts of the route have also been followed by the Capital Ring, a walking route around inner and suburban London.
