One of the reasons why the youth unemployment is increasing in Denmark, is the lack of apprenticeship places – despite an improvement in the Danish economy. Analysis by the Danish “Economic Council of the Labour Movement “ says that the deficit in apprenticeship has been increasingly growing over the years and within the last 12 month with 15%. The Council also states that In May this year the lack of apprenticeship places in Copenhagen was more than 80%. Many of these young people forms the dark figures in terms of unemployment, as they does not qualifies to be included in the official statistics.
