Epididymo-orchitis in a 67 year old male patient following a brachytherapy (radiation) treatment for prostate cancer. This is an inflammation of the epididymis (the tube which stores and transports sperm) and the testicles. The main symptom is pain in the scrotum, swelling and tenderness. It can also be caused by a sexually transmitted infection or a urinary tract infection among other causes. Treatment is usually with antibiotics and anti-inflammatories. For further images of this patient see SPL codes C060/1427 and C060/1428.
