TheMaryland lawyers success in this affair, and hisacknowledged ability, led Aaron Burr to retain hisservices in an even more dramatic trial that tookplace at Richmond two years later. The intricacies of Aaron Burrs alleged con-spiracy which have baffled later historians, evi-dently vexed the legal souls of his contempora-ries. Burrs acquittal was due to Judge Marshalls126.
