Kashmiri farmers peel freshly picked almonds during the harvesting season at the village in Pulwama district, south of Srinagar. The almond production is on sharp decline due to unfavourable weather conditions in the Kashmir valley. Official data shows that almond production fell from 15,183 tonnes in 2006-07 to 9,898 tonnes in 2019-20.
