One-Man Unloaders The one-man type of tower unloader is used chiefly forunloading coal, ore, etc., from vessels. This machine con-sists of a steel-frame tower having a hinged boom carryinga hoisting unit of the man-trolley type which may be movedalong the boom. The trolley carries the drums, motorsand controllers required to operate a grab bucket and alsothe operator. The boom may be raised to clear the mastsof vessels, alongside the wharf.
