The blind leads the blind; Sic Caecus Caecum Consature Ducere Secum; Emblemata Saecularia, 1596. Three shutters in pilgrim wear running in succession. The rear man wears a child in a basket on his back. The anterior falls into a ditch on which the others will follow (variant of biblical proverb "if a blind lead leads to a blind, they will both fall into a well" Matth. 14:15). A hostel and left a church in the background. Emblem no. 18 in Emblemata Saecularia, 1596 and No. 39 in the second edition of 1611.
