The totaltonnage erected up tothat time amounted toapproximately 46,000tons, about 30,000 tons of which had been placed during the 1915 workingseason of seven months, from the middle of . to themiddle of November. The total quantity of steel in thebridge will weigh in the neighborhood of 65,000 tons, so. View Showing l,0004on Traveler and Progress of Erection. that the programme for the season of 1916 calls for theerection of about 19,000 tons, a comparatively easy taskjudging from the records of the past summer. Of this19,000 tons, the south shore cantilever arm contributes 13,000 tons and thesuspended span 6,000tons. XXork on the erec-tion of the south shore<*antilever arm wasproperly started aboutthe middle of April,1916, and at the timeof writing this article,the first pane! and ahalf, adjacent to themain pier, is practi-cally completed. It isexpected that the pro-gress of erection of thesouth shore cantileverarm will be approxi-mately as stated in theschedule on the fol-lowing page. The method of erec-tion of the south canti-lever arm is entirelythe same as that fol-lowed on the northcantilever arm, and,as noted above, it isexpected that thiswork will be finishedby the end of the firstweek in September,19111, when the bridgewill be in readinessfor the floa
