(Aug. 1, 2017) – Lena Chang, senior fish and wildlife biologist with the Service in Ventura, and volunteer coordinator for the South Coast Chapter of BeachCOMBERS, examines a bird carcass during a survey of Hollywood Beach. BeachCOMBERS trains volunteers to record data about deceased marine mammals or birds along a shoreline, contributing to long-term information about the health of a marine ecosystem.
