Mr. Campbell has been ver}- active in all the affairs of thetown and county, but nota candidate for any was selected as Presi-dential Elector in 1880,when President Garfieldwas selected. Has beentrustee of our WaterWorks. Mr. Campbell servedduring the Civil War inthe Fifth Iowa VolunteerInfantry, ard in theFifth Iowa VolunteerCavalry, three and one-half years. He unitedwith the Second Presby-terian church in Ripleywhen seventeen years ofage and his membershipwas transferred to theFirst Presbyterian churchof Bellefontaine underDr. Kalbs pastorate, in 1865, 28, 1872.
