Ventral produced into a filament, reaching anal. Caudal rounded. Caudal peduncle as long as deep. Scales cycloid, 3 • 17—19 27-28 j2> lateral lines ^j^. Purplish brown above, cheek and opercle yellow, belly carmine-red; a large black spot on the operculum and another on the posterior part of the spinous dorsal, which is dark purplish ; soft dorsal carmine-red ; ventral carmine-red, edged with black.
