The mild, spring-like weatlier caused quite a large run of transient business with the downtown florists. The big de- mand, February 14, was for violets and they were many thousands short of the demand, but in all other seasonable stork the su]iply was satisfactory. Roses are again in cr(»p an<I consign- ments greatly increased last week. The ])rice is again normal in all gradcR ex- cept tlie extra long fancies in Premier. All varieties of roses arc selling well. rariiations ;ilso greatly increased in su])])ly and the jiricc is down to $4 and $() per hundred. There are plenty of sweet jieas to be had daily in all grades, witli a drop in jirice. Bulbous stock, too, will be heavy from now on and a big drop in jirices is looked for by the end of this week.
