It is most likely that a careful examination of a number of the fowls would furnish examples of this species and possibly still others not yet recog- nized. THE PIGEON GONIODES. (Goniodes damicornis Nitzsch.) According to Giebel this species was first de- scribed by Nitzsch, and his reference is " Zeit- schrift f. ges. Naturwiss., 1806, xvii ; It is a rather large species, a little more than two I millimetres in length and of a bright-brown color. The head is very much rounded in front and strongly angular behind. It occurs only on pig- eons, but upon these appears to be rather com- mon, though not yet met with in our own collec- Fig. 23.—Goniodes damicor- nis. (Original.) THE LITTLE PIGEON GONIODES. (Goniodes minor Piaget.) Piaget (Les Pediculiues, p. 256) has described as a distinct species, under the above name, a form quite similar to the preceding but smaller and presenting some differences of the antenna? and form of the head. According to this author it is found on the domestic pigeons and also on Cohimha tigrina, C. risoria, and G. hitorquata. It has not to our knowledge been recorded in this country as yet, but is likely to be found along with the other Please note that
