The Col in Gleann Eachach Between the Two Carn Dearg Corbetts

The "Parallel Roads" of Glen Roy are lake terraces that formed along the shorelines of an ancient ice-dammed lakes. In all the lake levelled out three times and over the years wave action flattened the hillside causing three shorelines at 260m,325m and 350m before the ice melted. From a distance they resemble man-made roads running along the side of the Glen, hence the name. A Corbett is a Scottish Mountain between 2500ft (762m) and 3000ft (914m) with a drop of at least 500ft () of which they are 220 and take there name from John Rooke Corbett who first classified them.
