This image may not be used to state or imply ESA endorsement of any company or product Gaia satellite sky mapper image of the sky covering part of the Sagittarius I Window (Sgr-I), located two degrees below the Galactic Centre. The European Space Agency (ESA)'s Gaia satellite, launched in 2013, is detecting stars and measuring their properties in order to build up a precise 3D map of the Milky Way.
