The gears weremade by the Tool Steel Gear & Pinion Company and have5/4-in. face and eighty-two teeth on three and a halfdiametrical pitch. The pinions have sixteen teeth. A gearratio of 17 to 69, with three pitch, is used on this companys40-hp motors, but a change is contemplated with a view tosaving energy.
