New and Destrable Yarietiks and Seeds of Special Merit. 7 Country Gentleman Sweet Corn. The " Country Gentleman " is the ficest flrivored and sweet- est of Sugar C 'rns. The ears are not on'y of good size, but are produced in great abundance, frequently bearing three or four good ears to the stalk. When we consider that ordinary- Sweet Corn produces only one or two good ears to the stalk, the superiority of this variety will be quickly seen. The cob is very small, giving a great depth to the kernels, which are of pearly whiteness. The greatest merit of this corn, as be- fore stated, is its delicious quality. Price, per pkt. 10 cts.; qt. 30 cts ; peck, $ ; doz. ears. 60 cts. Jackson Wonder Beans. A sterling new variety of bush beans, which originated in Georgia, The seed is of a dark brown color, spotted with black. It is verf similar in growth to the Dwarf Lima, and resembles it in most particulars, excepting the color of the seed. It ia a little hardier, standing more extremes of heat and cold, and is claimed to be more prolific and of a little stronger flavor, which is much liked by some peo- ple. It should not be planted quite as early as the Snap Bean. Plant in rows two and-a-half feet apart, ten or twelve inches between the beans. Per pkt. 10 cts.; pint, 30 cts.; qt. 50 cts.; peck, $ Howe's Premium Potato. This splendid new early potato was tested generally the past season, and proved itself the best of all early potatoes. Our grower in Maine reports that, compared with fifty acres that were raised through the past season, it proved itself to be the earliest of them all, maturing in advance of every other variety. In shape it is similar to the Bliss Turnip, being nearly round, flesh white, quality first-rate. In size and
