GEORGE PARKER MERRILL, Jr. Second Lieutenant, , of George Parker and Mary Alice (Jones) Merrill; was bornin Melrose, Mass., March 6, 1894. He was educated at the Mel-rose High School, and at the Syracuse Forestry School, from whichhe graduated in 1915. He enlisted in Boston, Oct. 14, 1917, andwas trained at the Ground School, , at Cornell, and at CampDick, Dallas, Tex. He was assigned to Eberts Field, Lonoke, Ark.,April 12, 1918. He was commissioned 2d Lieut., July 20, 1918, andsubsequently held at Eberts Field as Instructor in Acrobatics. Hewas honorably discharged from the Service Dec. 9, 1918. [ 456 ]. FREDERICK B. CANNSecond Lieutenant, , Son of Bonman F. and Grace S. (Crosby) Cann, of Jaffrey, ;was born at Cambridge, Mass., Dec. 12, 1885. He was educated atthe Jaffrey High School, and the State College, at Durham, He attended the Plattsburg Training Camp for three monthsin 1916; and again in 1917. He graduated from the at Aus-tin, Tex., from the Flying School at Kelly Field, San Antonio, Tex.,and has since been Instructor at Park Field, Millington, Tenn. Hewas commissioned 2d Lieut, at Kelly Field. HALSEY R. BAZLEY Second Lieutenant, , , Staff Pilot, Tours, France Son of William H. and Berta B. Bazley, of Everett, Mass.; wasborn in Whitman, Mass., May 7, 1896. He was educated at theEverett High School, and Northeastern College. In the summer of1916 he attended the Plattsburg Training Camp.
