Light micrograph of mesothelium, which is the lining of internal body cavities of the thorax, abdomen, and pelvis. The mesothelial cells (dark blue flat or ovoid) form a continuous line and sit atop the underlying connective tissue (pink with mixed white portion at the lower end of the picture). Haematoxylin and eosin stained tissue section. Magnification: 200x when printed at 10 cm.
