London, UK. 30th Aug, 2013. A former top A-list boutique hotel is being redeveloped into luxury apartments. The Hempel Hotel in Hyde Park is selling its entire contents at auction, including the bed the Beckhams slept in and Michael Jackson’s toilet. The Beckhams’ bed in The Lioness Suite is one of the star items in the auction which takes place on September 12 this year. David and Victoria Beckham were frequent guests at the hotel, a favourite of star celebrities since it opened. This designer bed was slept in by the Beckhams. The Hempel Hotel in Hyde Park is selling its entire contents at auction, including the bed the Beckhams slept in and Michael Jackson’s toilet. The Beckhams’ bed in The Lioness Suite is one of the star items in the auction which takes place on September 12 this year. David and Victoria Beckham were frequent guests at the hotel, a favourite of star celebrities since it opened. This designer bed was slept in by the Beckhams. It is an unusual design with the 10ft 5in by 8ft 2in suspended bed frame. The Lioness suite, was reportedly always insisted on by Victoria Beckham. Anyone can bid for everything in this room, including the suspended bed frame, coffee table, music system, TVs and mini-bar. There are 40 bedrooms and 20 suites contents to be sold at auction along with many other smaller lots from cutlery to art works and even garden furniture. The Hempel opened in 1997 and sixties star Anouska Hempel designed the interiors of the hotel in a ‘minimalist’ style. Picture by Tony Henshaw
