Z.; Albatross Station 3394, off Panama, Pacific Ocean; depth 511 fathoms. Length 108 mm. Distribution.—Known only from the type locality. Two specimens examined. Relationships.—Differing from P. dactylosus in the simple teeth and oblique mouth and from all the other species in the large number of pectoral rays. Description oj the types.—Body as in P. mento; deepest at the nape, sloping down for a short distance and then retaining an even depth.
