British Railways 0-6-0 Shunter D3940 (BR Class 08, 08772) as the station pilot at Sheringham on the North Norfolk Railway D3940 was built at Derby in 1960 and withdrawn from service in 1994. 996 off 08's were built between 1953 and 1962 and over 100 are still in service. The 08 shunter 0-6-0 design was based on the LMS Class D3/7 shunter of 1939 and LMS 12033 shunter series for the war department in early 1945 so it's safe to assume the basic body design you see here dates from the late
