The Hawaii Air National Guard (HIANG) conducted its first day of F-22 Raptor training at the Kahalui Airport OGG on Maui, Hawaii, Aug. 1, 2019. The HIANG flew the aircraft to Maui to ensure the aircraft will be able to divert to alternate airfields within the Hawaiian Islands in the event of any state emergencies. The F-22 training was conducted by a diverse group of supporting units including personnel from the HIANG’s 199th Fighter Squadron (FS), 204th Airlift Squadron (AS), 292nd Combat Communications Squadron (CBCS) on Maui, active duty Air Force 19th FS, ANG members from Portland, Oregon
